Historic Faith. Living Hope.
Christians across centuries and cultures have confessed the same foundational truths about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, salvation, and the Church. We gladly stand in that stream.
We believe there are essential truths that unite the global Church — truths revealed in Scripture and summarized in the historic creeds. At the same time, we seek to hold all things with love, remembering that truth without love distorts the heart of Jesus.
In essentials, unity.
In non-essentials, charity.
In everything, love.
Below you’ll find a summary of our core convictions.
Core Beliefs
These are the foundational truths that shape our teaching, worship, and life together.
We believe there is one true and living God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
God is the Creator of heaven and earth. He is holy, loving, just, merciful, and faithful. He is not distant or detached but actively involved in His creation.
God created humanity in His image to reflect His character and steward His world. From beginning to end, Scripture reveals a God who pursues relationship with His people and works to bring redemption and restoration to all He has made.
We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human — the eternal Son of God who entered history.
Born of a virgin, Jesus lived a sinless life, revealed the heart of the Father, proclaimed the Kingdom of God, performed mighty works, and embodied perfect love and obedience.
Through His sacrificial death on the cross, Jesus atoned for our sins. Through His bodily resurrection, He defeated sin, death, and the powers of darkness. He ascended to the Father and will return in glory to judge the living and the dead.
Jesus is Lord.
Everything was created through Him, is sustained by Him, and will ultimately be restored under His reign.
We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God and active in the world today.
The Spirit convicts of sin, awakens faith, regenerates the heart, and dwells within believers. The Spirit empowers us to grow in Christlikeness, equips the Church with spiritual gifts, and leads us in truth.
Through the Spirit, God is present with His people — forming us into a faithful community that reflects Jesus to the world.
We believe the Bible — the Old and New Testaments — is inspired by God and trustworthy in all that it teaches.
Through human authors, the Holy Spirit has given us Scripture as the authoritative guide for faith and life. The Bible tells one unified story centered on Jesus — from creation to new creation.
We submit ourselves to Scripture not as a weapon to win arguments, but as God’s living word that shapes, corrects, forms, and leads us into truth.
We seek to read Scripture faithfully, in its historical context and literary form, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
We believe every person is created in the image of God and therefore possesses inherent dignity, worth, and purpose.
Because of sin, humanity is separated from God and unable to restore itself. Sin distorts our relationship with God, with one another, and with creation itself.
Yet God has not abandoned His creation. From the beginning, His plan has been redemption and restoration.
Salvation is God’s rescue and renewal of humanity through Jesus Christ.
Because of sin, we were alienated from God and enslaved to powers we could not overcome. In love, God sent His Son to do for us what we could not do for ourselves.
Through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection:
Our sins are forgiven.
We are reconciled to God.
We are freed from the power of sin and death.
We are made new.
Salvation is by grace through faith. It is not earned but received. When we trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior, we are brought into restored relationship with God.
Salvation is not escape from the world, but the beginning of God’s renewal of all things.
Salvation is both a moment and a journey:
We have been saved through Christ’s finished work.
We are being saved as the Spirit forms us into the likeness of Jesus.
We will be saved fully when Christ returns and makes all things new.
Our hope is not escape from the world, but the renewal of all creation under the reign of King Jesus.
We believe the Church is the body of Christ — a Spirit-formed community of people following Jesus together.
The Church exists to worship God, proclaim the gospel, make disciples, practice justice and mercy, and embody the life of the coming Kingdom in the present world.
We believe the Church is called to be a preview of new creation — a community shaped by grace, truth, holiness, reconciliation, generosity, and love.
We believe Jesus will return to judge evil, defeat death fully, and renew heaven and earth.
The story of Scripture ends not with abandonment of creation, but with restoration. God will dwell with His people. All things will be made new.
This future hope shapes how we live now — faithfully, courageously, and with confidence that our labor in the Lord is not in vain.
Historic Creeds
We fully affirm the Apostles’ Creed as a historic summary of essential Christian belief:
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic* church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
*that is, the true Christian church of all times and all places
We also affirm the Nicene Creed as a faithful articulation of the Church’s confession about the Trinity and the person of Christ:
We believe in one God,
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
begotten from the Father before all ages,
God from God,
Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made;
of the same essence as the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven;
he became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary,
and was made human.
He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered and was buried.
The third day he rose again, according to the Scriptures.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again with glory
to judge the living and the dead.
His kingdom will never end.
And we believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the giver of life.
He proceeds from the Father and the Son,
and with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified.
He spoke through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church.
We affirm one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look forward to the resurrection of the dead,
and to life in the world to come. Amen.
